Details: I bought my BeautyRest mattress from Bedding Mart in late 2007 where no more then a year later it
started to sag and loose it's comfort level. Once the sagging started I began to experience eminence back pain
throughout the nights that I slept where the following days were miserable with neck and back pain. Anyways, to try
and take care of this I called my salesman Glen at Bedding Mart which also happened to be the sales manager as
well. The sales manager proceeded to seem interested where he scheduled an immediate visit to come out to my
apartment to look at it. This scheduled simple visit ended up taking three weeks and 2 or three follow up phone
calls to get Glen out to my apartment but he did finally make it.
Finally the warranty visit did happen where a make-shift tennis ball and fishing line test was given where this test
primitively measures the sag on a mattress. I was informed by Glen that the Simmons Bedding company requires
one and half inches of sag before you can claim a warranty issue so my one inch of sag did not qualify me. In my
opinion as the consumer any amount sagging that can cause discomfort on a relatively new, brand named
mattress is unacceptable. With this little test that took 5 minutes to do my whole issue with my mattress was written
off. The test said I did not qualify for a warranty issue but yet I was left with a product that I could not use. The sales
manager then proceeded to tell me and my mother who was visiting that my bed did not meet the warranty
requirements of the Simmons company and that this problem was not the first that he had heard of or seen. The
sales manager also mentioned that this problem is even more of an issue now because of the recent move by all
the bedding manufactures to non-flip only mattress designs.
My main problem is definitely geared towards the Simmons Bedding Company but I hold Bedding Mart
responsible because they are the store that represents and sells the Simmons company's products where their
first concern should be my happiness. If I'm not happy then I'm not going buy anymore products from them.
Customer service should be the number one priority at any company where Bedding Mart on Chenal Parkway
does not seem to embrace this philosophy.
Problems with Bedding Mart that I encountered:
1. I called the manager at Bedding Mart over a time period of three months to get answers on what was being
done about my problem where he would say he's looking into it or that the Simmon's rep has not gotten an
answer to him
2. The Bedding Mart store did nothing to resolve the issue that I was having (when I contacted the Simmon's
company they said that I would need to take this matter up with the retail store that I made the purchase at)
3. Bedding Mart chose not to stand behind their product that they sold to me
4. In the end, the Bedding Mart manager requested that I stop calling about this issue as the deal was final.
5. Finally, after writing this review online for future customers to see, Bedding Mart had an attorney contact me
through email and threaten me that I had to take my review done or else they would seek legal action.
Important Note:
If your are looking for a quality bedding store to do business with you would be smart to go somewhere else. My
experience with Bedding Mart Chenal Parkway was awful. I basically threw my money out the window with the
mattress purchase I made there plus the hours of wasted time/phone call conversations I had.
I have since disposed of my Bedding Mart BeautyRest mattress where I went to a better store where they even
offered a 30 day sleep guarantee. I took advantage of their sleep guarantee where I now have a nice bed and I did
receive excellent customer service before and after the sale.
My -WARNING- to anyone who is looking at buying a product from this store, what happened to me could happen to you.
